Dance like a butterfly

Perhaps Senator Barack Obama is wise to play it straight and honest in the early phases of the 2008 presidential campaign. Let the other candidate knock each other out of the ring. Prize fighter Muhammad Ali did well by not letting his opponent get to him. He was also ahead of the majority is saying, "War is against the teaching of the Holy Our'an," when he refused to serve in the Army during the Vietnam war.

Joe Kline describes Obama's performance versus Senator Hillary Clinton in Time magazine.

Howard Fineman and Richard Wolffe interviewed Obama for Newsweek.

Iraq busted US up

In the episode "Peak Performance" of the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation, Lt. Commander Data plays the game Stategema against Zakdorn master strategist Sirma Kolrami. Realizing that he cannot win after being trounced in their first match, Data simply plays for a standoff in a rematch. He blocks all of Kolrami's attempts to win and yields a draw. Data's post-game summation: "I busted him up." (original episode and wikipedia.com)

General Ricardo S. Sanchez' assessment of the situation in Iraq is correct. The best outcome available for America now is not losing. The American people are way ahead of the government in this game. The opposition has busted the US up. The days when wars could be won are over.

India Elects First Woman President

Women in India are not only considered second class citizens, but female children are thought to be a burden on their families. Female infanticide, selective abortion, and every day inequality common. Although the presidential office there is largely ceremonial, maybe electing a woman in the USA is not so far fetched after all. See:

Obama Ruffles Feathers in India

When Barack Obama's campaign team criticized Hillary Clinton for being too pro-Indian, the remarks were not ignored in the Indian community. Rajeev Srinivasan writing in Redriff India Abroad wonders what exactly Senator Obama stands for. He also doubts that America is ready for either a woman or a black as commander in chief.

John Hogue on Clinton & Obama

Nostradamus expert and prophet John Hogue was a guest of host George Noory on the syndicated overnight talk show, Coast to Coast AM on April 12, 2007. Hogue predicted that Senator Hillary Clinton would be elected president of the United States in 2008.

Hogue stated that Obama has, “…definitely got potential to be a president, but not in 2008….The thing that is basically…is critically important for Barack Obama, and his weakness, is his inexperience. He is as inexperienced now as Kennedy was in 1956 when he…attempted to run as vice president for Adlai Stevenson against Eisenhower. He made an amazing speech just like Barack Obama, early in his senatorial…”

Noory interrupted, “That put him on the map, right?”

“Yeah. And then another four years later, he was ready. I think what will be handed to [Obama] is an offer. And if he takes it, he will be a president in the future."

Noory: “V.P.?”

“Yes, he’s going to be offered, if he has not already been offered, the vice presidency…in a Clinton ticket. And if he takes it, in one to two terms will be a president. If he denies it, he will never be president….And the thing is that he could be president sooner than the second term…because Hillary Clinton’s presidency, if it happens, has a very strong karmic parallel to her being the Democrat Richard Nixon.”

Noory: “Really?”

“Yeah….She has an opportunity to make right what Nixon did wrong, or to go into the same king of paranoia and…ruin her presidency. She has the potential of being great.”

Hogue is writing a series of prophetic articles at

Letterman: Hillary + Obama?

On Late Night with David Letterman (CBS) April 9, 2007, Senator Barack Obama was asked by Letterman if a “compromise” Hillary Clinton-Obama Democratic ticket might be possible for the presidential election in 2008. He suggested that it could be either Hillary running for president and Obama for vice president, or the reverse with Obama running for president.

Apparently not at first catching the entire question, Obama said, “You don't run for second. I don’t believe in that.” Letterman continued with, “That would be…that would be a powerful ticket, undeniably. That would be a powerful ticket.” Obama then said, jokingly, “Which order are we talkin’ about?” (laughter). Letterman clarified, “Let’s say you’re the presidential candidate (laughter)…Hillary is the vice presidential candidate.”

Senator Obama, without answering directly, went on to say that he had “terrific respect for Hillary” and concluded with, “All the candidates are in to win.”

Clinton: A Jag, Not a Ferraro

In a Newsweek article Geraldine Ferraro wrote about her run for vice president of the United States in 1984. Her candidacy planted the seed of possibility that a woman could someday serve as president of the U.S. In 2008 it will be 24 years, a generation, a since Mrs. Ferraro ran on the Democratic ticket with Senator Walter “Fritz” Mondale. Now Senator Hillary Clinton is running for president and this time it’s for real.

Hillary Clinton - Iraq Vote

Senator Hillary Clinton voted to authorize the use of force against Iraq in 2002. Criticism of her former position at this time ignores the fact that things have changed. It’s fighting the last war, so to speak. What the United States can or should do now is not the same as it was in 2002. Domination of the world by America is becoming untenable. Even if the U.S. achieved energy self-sufficiency tomorrow it would not change the rise of Russia, China, and India as important players in the world. America’s insularity blinds her to the obvious. Even countries such as North Korea and Iran demand to be taken seriously. Senator Clinton is no deer in the headlights, politically speaking. Love her or hate her. She can't be ignored.

Twin Stars in Texas Looking to 2**8

In the spring of 1961 I was in Washington, D.C. on a high school class trip. While in the U.S. Capital building I recognized Senator George McGovern from South Dakota behind us. No one else seemed to notice.
As noted in a recent article on Time.com, Bill and Hillary Clinton started out in Austin, Texas as McGovern supporters in 1992. And now Barack Obama has shown up there in a cowboy hat to grab a piece of the action.
I believe that these two seemingly opposing stars will run together on the Democratic ticket in 2008, Senator Hillary Clinton for president of the United States and Senator Barack Obama for vice president.
